2. Any documentation, guidance, instructions provided to staff about compliance with retention schedules.
All staff are expected to comply with Council policies. The information management policies are included in the induction process and the information management online training module. The main policy in relation to retention is the Records Retention and Disposal Policy: https://www.highland.gov.uk/directory_record/379219/records_retention_and_disposal_policy/category/235/information_management
Managers are responsible for ensuring that their staff are aware of the retention requirements within the information managed by their staff.
3. Details of any software or retention policy settings utilised by the Council to track data to maintain compliance with the Corporate Retention Schedules.
There is no corporate system for tracking retention. This depends on the function, the systems utilised and the retention schedule which applies. The Records Management team utilise sharepoint to indicate when paper records which are within their management are ready for disposal and will then instigate a process for getting permission from the relevant team to destroy
